Michael Steven Evans passed away in the morning hours of May 29, 2022, at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was 59. Steve was born on August 13, 1962, in Albany, to Jerry Wayne Evans and Virginia Carolyn Faulkner Evans. He spent his earliest years in Albany, East Point, and then Fairburn, where he graduated from Campbell High School. He enjoyed playing football and was tuba player in the concert band. Mr. James "Espo" Esposito, 71, of LaGrange, passed away Sept. 11, 2021, at his home. Mr. Esposito was born Nov. 18, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. A resident of Georgia most of his life, he was employed by Pezold Management for more than 45 years and was a member of the American Legion. James Kendrick "Ken" Hubbard, Jr., 73, of Thomasville, passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Archbold Medical Center. He was born on March 5, 1948, in Atlanta. Ken was the son of the late James Kendrick Hubbard and Allyne Clark Hubbard. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, retired from the Georgia Army National Guard after 26 years of military service, and retired as a pilot from Atlantic Southeast Airlines. He earned a Bachelor's degree from Valdosta State University and was a member of Thomasville Lodge #369, F.&A.M. Ken was an avid member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Club. Mrs. Anne Wilson Hornsby, 83, of Blairsville, passed away Friday, December 18, 2020. Mrs. Hornsby was born October 11, 1937, in Marietta, daughter of the late Luther and Vallie Owenby Wilson. A resident of Cobb and Fulton counties most of her life, she was Baptist by faith and was employed in banking for many years, but had also worked for the state and for the postal service. She served as a school bus driver after her retirement. Mr. Fred Clinton Smith, a retired Jonesboro educator, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020. Born in Meriwether County, he was an Army veteran of the Korean War, was a graduate of West Georgia College, and earned his Master's degree from the University of Georgia. He served as principal of Jonesboro High School for many years, retired after serving as an educator for 41 years, was a member of Union Baptist Church in Meriwether County, was an avid tennis player, and was a talented woodworker and furniture maker.
