Ingeburg Maya Shell, 94, of Augusta, GA died Monday, December 11, 2023 at her residence after a brief and unexpected battle with heart failure. Born May 8, 1929 in Sulz am Neckar, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Johannes and Hedwig Zinser and was the wife of the late Columbus Leon Shell for 56 years. She was among the most kind, compassionate, and loving of souls. Her passing is a loss to the world. Ingeburg graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1960 with a degree in practical nursing and was the recipient of that year's Lucinda Ballard award for her loyalty and ability to instinctively help others.
