Scotty Ray Forbes was born on September 7, 1958 in Joplin, Missouri to Bill Ray and Sandra Endicott Forbes. On November 29, 1980, he married Cindy Miller in Riverton, Kansas. He loved basketball and on multiple occasions, he was able to make 100 free throws in a row. Scott was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed playing golf and watching drag racing. He was a fan of rock music and contemporary worship music. Scott started his career in the oil and gas industry in 1991. His love for the business allowed him to work his way up to become Vice President of Americas Supply Chain Cost at Wood Mackenzie, where he started in 2018 and worked until his death.
Scotty Ray Forbes passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021, in Houston, at the age of 62.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Forbes of Katy; daughter, Charissa Howard; grandson, Hugo Howard; parents, Bill and Sandra Forbes; and brothers, Brad Forbes of Overland Park, Kansas, and Doug Forbes and his wife Mindy of Riverton, Kansas.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2021 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway Chapel, in Katy. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2021 at Katy Community Fellowship, in Katy, with Rev. Tim Barker officiating. Interment in Katy Magnolia Cemetery in Katy.
