Scott Michael Teissler
beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and avid reader
Scott Michael Teissler, 71, passed away peacefully at home on April 16th, supported by his beloved wife of 40 years, Paula Ruth Markovitz, and their children, Madeline Scott Penn, Nicholas Paul Teissler, and Jennifer Markovitz Teissler, as well as their partners JD Penn, Catie Camron, and Liv Vitale. He is additionally survived by his granddaughter Leonora Ruth Penn and his sister Kathleen Teissler Packer and her family.
Scott was a beloved husband, father, gramps, and brother above all else. His family and colleagues appreciated his labyrinthine discussions, sesquipedalian interlocution, open-minded collegiality, and his sense of humor. After his retirement from Turner Broadcasting System, where he was CTO, he found the city of San Francisco salubrious and again chose to make it his home. Scott was an alumnus of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, The University of California Santa Cruz, and Santa Ana High School. We will all miss his inimitable way of moving through the world.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Brain Donor Project, P.O. Box 111002, Naples, FL 34108, or through https://braindonorproject.org/support-us. This non-profit supports the brain banks of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in helping people become brain donors to advance the science of neurologic disorders.
We, the Teissler family, would love for you to share your memories and photographs of Scott below (especially any particularly "Scott moment" stories (you'll know what we mean)). We miss him dearly and will think of him often.
