ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - Scott Snively, 59, passed away suddenly at his home on Tuesday, May 31st, 2022. Born in Washington, DC on June 16, 1962, he was the son of Hugh Snively and Anne (nee Miller) Colvin. He married the love of his life, Trudi Rateike, on June 9, 1984, sharing nearly 38 years of wedded life. Settling in Arlington Heights together, they raised their family of three boys, Michael, Christopher, and Benjamin. Scott grew up in Dabneys, VA, graduating from Patrick Henry High School. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Economics. Having worked in the IT industry for 37 years, Scott was employed by Informatica Inc. as a Data Domain Expert. A devoted family man, Scott passionately loved his wife and children. As his sons grew up, Scott could always be found playing soccer, catch, basketball, or whichever activities his children (and their friends) were involved in. He was known for starting snowball fights, water gun wars, impromptu firework shows, and general mischief. Scott was also involved with Boy Scouts as well as the YMCA Guides program. Scott always loved working outdoors and traveling with his wife, Trudi. Scott had a deep love for the Lord and was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights. At St. Peter, Scott was involved in Precepts Bible Study, the Lutheran Layman's League, and various boards, including the Trustees and Building committees. Known for carrying a well-worn Bible, Scott was always excited to share his faith with others at restaurants and airports during his frequent business trips. Scott is survived by his beloved wife, Trudi (nee Rateike); sons, Michael (Kathryn Forssander), Christopher (Jenny), and Benjamin (Ana Serna); parents, Hugh Snively and Anne Colvin; sister, Michelle Barr; sisters-in-law Ginger, (Brad) Schroeder, Donna (Richard) Nygren, and Marilyn Rateike (Jeanie Clappsaddle); brother-in-law, George Rateike II; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
