Scott Coel Mathot - age 76 of Tellico Village passed away on Sept. 9, 2022 at Fort LoudonMedical Center.
He was born on Sept. 8, 1946 in Green Bay, WI. Scott was a member of Saint Thomasthe Apostle Catholic Church.
Scott graduated from De Pere High School (WI) and Ripon College (WI) with a major in Math and Physics.He completed his MBA in 1970 from Indiana University and completed Harvard University's AdvancedManagement Program in 1988.Scott began his career at the Timken Company (OH) working his way through various management rolesbefore retiring in 2000. His working life took him to Colmar (France), Columbus (OH), Keene (NH) andeventually returning to Canton (OH). During the end of his professional career his leadership roles wereDirector of Bearing Manufacturing and President of MPB in Keene, NH.
After his retirement, he was an active leader in the Tellico Village community, created "STAYinTV", andserved as President of the Townhome Association and also served as the President of the "Shores" forseveral years. In addition to his local contributions, he was Club President and leader for the localKiwanis Club that strived to provide needed services to the community. In all of his activities he wasalways striving to solve problems and unite people to achieve more for the community.
When he wasn't volunteering, his greatest joys were out on the boat with his family, watching hisbeloved Green Bay Packers and traveling the world. He also loved to golf with his friends in Tellico.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents Edgar Mathot and Eileen Mathot.
He is survived by his lovingwife of 52 years, Karen; sister Jude Kloman, and sons and daughters-in-law Jeffrey (Jill), Curtis, Brian(Lauren); eight grandchildren, Olivia, Jordan, Mackenzie, Brendan, Charlie, Jackson, Lennon and Michael,that all knew him as "GPa".
The family would like to thank the staff at Fort Loudon Medical Center for their loving care and support.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2022 at Saint Thomas the Apostle CatholicChurch. A reception will follow at the Tellico Village Yacht Club.
