Scott J. Greger, 70, of New Britain, passed away Saturday (December 26, 2020) at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. Born in New Britain, he was raised in Berlin and was also a former Bristol resident before moving back to New Britain in 2004. A graduate of Berlin High School, Class of 1969, Scott was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a Metal Worker and did Heating & Air Conditioning work. Scott was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the SVEA Social Club.
Surviving is a son, Travis Greger and his Fiancee Diana Rose of New Britain; two brothers, Eric Nielsen and his wife Ann of Springfield, VA; and Mark Nielsen of Honolulu, HI; two sisters, Pat Hedwall and her husband Mark of Lebanon; and Kerin "Keri" Nielsen Kimball and her husband Bill of Plainville; three nieces and two nephews, Kayla Pavlowitz and her husband Bryan, Jason Davis, Adrianna Hedwall, Patrick Nielsen and Erika Nielsen; as well as a great nephew, Clayton Pavlowitz. Besides his parents, Jack and Dorothy (Thompson) Nielsen, Scott was predeceased by a sister, Johna Greger and a brother, J. Wester "Wes" Nielsen.
Calling hours are Wednesday 5 to 7:30 PM followed by a prayer service at 7:30 PM at Carlson Funeral Home, 45 Franklin Square, New Britain. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
