Help us celebrate Schevaun! Please share your stories and photos, and invite others who remember Schevaun.
Schevaun Robinson Massey was 88 years old, and died on February 23, 2021 in Hot Springs, AR.
She was born to a pioneer family with Irish Catholic roots in Rawlins, Wyoming on April 28, 1932. Schevaun graduated from St. Mary's College in South Bend, IN, and she worked summers on the family ranch.
Schevaun met the love of her life - Billie James Massey - he was a new USAF pilot, she was a school teacher. They married June 10, 1957. Schevaun joined Billie wherever he was stationed, moving the family around the world -- from Colorado to California, from the Philippines to Germany, then back to Texas. They retired in Hot Springs, AR.
Schevaun will be remembered as a woman who knew how to make an entrance. She was a strong woman with a soft heart, one who expressed her opinions and stood by her values. A talented musician and painter, Schevaun's greatest accomplishment was always being the stable and loving foundation for her family.
Schevaun was preceded in death by her parents John and Elizabeth Robinson, and her two brothers, John Robinson O.S.B., and Tim Robinson. Schevaun is survived by her loving husband, Billie, and by her four children: John Massey (Joni) of Hot Springs, AR; Margaret Campbell of Arlington, TX; Hanora "Nonie" Lay (Stuart) of Hot Springs, AR, and James Massey (Lezlie) of Anacortes, WA, and by her sister, Hanora Ferris. Schevaun is loved by eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held in May. Donations can be made in her memory to her brothers' mission work: SOLT, (for Belize Mission, John Paul II College) P.O. Box 4116, Corpus Christi, TX 78469.
