Sara P. Smith "Sally" 92, passed away on Thursday evening December 31, 2020 at the Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, N.H. after a brief illness. She was born March 2, 1928 in Dorchester, Massachusetts the daughter of William and Beulah (Eisan) Welch. She received her education and graduated from High School in Massachusetts.
On July 14, 1946 she married William C. Smith Jr. in Boston, Massachusetts, He predeceased her on July 30, 2011.
She made her home in Southwick, Massachusetts for many years, moving to Vermont in 1975.
Sally was a wonderful artist and taught art to gifted students in Springfield, Massachusetts and Brookline, Vermont for many years.
She enjoyed playing with her great grandchildren as well as art, jigsaw puzzles and baking homemade bread, she taught her daughters and granddaughters how to bake bread. She was the one that would always get the children together to do arts and crafts at family gatherings.
She is survived by her daughter Paula Boulrice and her husband Rene, three granddaughters; Melissa "Missy" and her husband Ohad, Melinda "Mindy" and her husband Jeff, and Michelle "Shelley". Three great grandchildren; Mason, Olive and Mili May. Also by several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was Gram to all adult children and Gigi to all young children that met her. She had tight hugs for everyone.
She was predeceased by her husband William, daughter Linda May Smith in 1999, one sister Gladys Singleton, and two brothers; John Welch and William Welch.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in 2021.
