Sara Marjorie Blum Baumwald entered into eternal rest on December 29, 2020. Sara was born on February 24, 1930 in Charles Town, West Virginia, the youngest child of Samuel Blum and Annie Levy Blum. She attended the University of Georgia, and thereafter embarked on a career as a legal assistant. After working and raising her children in Charleston, SC, Sara returned to Georgia and worked for many years as a senior legal assistant at Lipshutz, Greenblatt and King in Atlanta. During her career in Georgia, she worked as personal secretary to Robert Lipshutz, former counsel to President Jimmy Carter. Sara assisted Mr. Lipshutz in the formation of the Carter Presidential Center, and assisted him in international dealings. Since retirement, Sara reveled in the love of her children and grandchildren.
Sara is survived by her children, David Bernstein (Tricia) of Lawrenceville, GA, Bobby Bernstein (Mary Deann) of Charleston, SC, Barry Bernstein (Diane) of Columbia, SC, and Beth Einig (Bob) of Acworth, GA, and her grandchildren, Marguerite McEvoy Shipman, Benjamin Bernstein, Preston Bernstein, Maxwell Einig, and Alexander Bernstein, and great grandchildren Jessica Bernstein and Wyatt Shipman.
