Santiago B. Hernandez

South Bend - Santiago Bentley Hernandez, 6, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022.

Santiago was born on October 23, 2015, in South Bend to Gerald and Paulita (Jenks) Hernandez.

Left to cherish the memory of Santiago are his parents, Paulita Hernandez & Gerald (Sara) Hernandez; sisters, Lyric Martinez, Kiana Hernandez, Santana Hernandez; brother, Ramiro; grandmothers, Angeles Arriaga, and Carolyn (Dennis) Weber; grandfather, Florencio Hernandez; step-brothers, Levi Thompson and Royce Thompson and step-sister, Ava Thompson. He is preceded in death by his brother, Santino Brandon Hernandez.

Santiago attended My Little World Day Care, Monroe Elementary School and Studebaker School. He was a very energetic child, and didn't know a stranger, he was friendly to everyone. Santiago had a very funny personality, he loved life. He enjoyed going to school, and helped everyone at school. His best friends were Nena and Royce. Santiago loved police officers; he always carried his handcuffs and wore his police outfit everywhere! He also loved fire trucks! Santiago enjoyed listening to music, his favorite rapper was Pooh Shiesty. He loved spending time outside.

Visitation for Santiago will be 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, February 3, 2022 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm Friday, February 4, 2022 in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
