Sandra PetroskeyJune 11, 1940 - July 7, 2022Sandra (Sandy) Petroskey, born on June 11, 1940, in New Haven, Connecticut, passed away on the morning of July 7, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. She is predeceased by her loving parents, Harry Sigan and Mary Brisgelsky; and stepfather, Abraham Brisgelsky.Sandy was the loving wife of Walter Petroskey Jr. of just under 61 years and many in town would see them out and about frequenting some of their favorite restaurants.Sandy leaves behind her daughters, Harriet Harun and Rissa Webb; and grandchildren: Amanda Webb, Marcus Harun (Rabiah Gul), Cassie Webb (Yakin Frazier), Brittany Webb, Eunes Harun, and Dereck Webb. She was also predeceased by son-in-law, Jonathan Webb.Sandy lived a long life dedicated to her husband, children, and grandchildren. She and Walter spend many years traveling, going to concerts, and hosting large holiday dinners. Sandy loved bowling; she was in many bowling leagues. She also loved socializing with friends and family.After raising her daughters, she worked for many years at the Department of Mental Retardation. After she retired, she was part of the opening of Old Navy in Hamden and enjoyed working there for several years.Sandy will be dearly missed by her family and everyone who knew her.Graveside service will take place on Friday, July 8, 2022, at 1 pm at the Independent Vilner Lodge Cemetery at 46 Jewell Street, New Haven, CT 06511.Shiva is being observed at 11 Curry Road, Hamden, CT from Saturday, July 9 – Monday, July 11, 2-4 pm.Memorial donations can be sent to the Alzheimer's Association or the Jewish National Fund.
