Sandra K. Nelson, 82 of Elkhart, went to be with our Lord on November 2, 2021. She was born on August 6, 1939 to Richard and Roberta Denny in Kosciusko County. She was preceded in death by her husband Oliver C. Nelson, her loving daughter, Tammy Campbell, grandson, Michael Russell, parents; brother, Jerry Denny; sister, Beverly Denny and sister, Nancy Barrett. With honor, she married her wonderful husband on July 20, 1958. With lots of love and a little humor, the adventure began. Surviving are her daughters, Juanita (Dave) Russell of Warsaw, Kim (Rick) Cassella of Elkhart, Brenda Nelson of Elkhart, Beth (Dave) Campbell of Elkhart, son, John (Andi) Nelson of Charleston WV, son-in- law, John Campbell of Bristol and sister, Peggy (David) Fitzpatrick of Warsaw. They were also blessed with 14 grandchildren: Marc, Jamie, Missy, Kristina, Christopher, Joey, Adam, Tony, Stephen, Tricia, David, Michael and Cassie and 17 great grandchildren. What an adventure it was! Sandra had her loving hands full raising six children; she spent her working years cleaning residential homes. Sandra very much enjoyed being a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. She belonged to a beautiful Trio for years and enjoyed singing in the Church Choir to which they gave her a majestic concert just hours before she quietly entered into our Lord's hands. She enjoyed growing her beautiful flowers and had colorful ones for every season, she enjoyed camping, she was a talented sewer, sewing each of her daughter's wedding dresses. She mixed Love and Faith into everything she did and no matter what she encountered, she had a Hope and a Prayer for every occasion. She believed that Faith was the most important thing and hers was not swayed. Our mother was the glue that held our family together. She was an incredible woman and will very much be missed. Visitation and service is Friday November 5, 2021 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church at 2222 W. Indiana Avenue, Elkhart, In 46514. The service will immediately follow. There will be a graveside service on Saturday November 6, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Chapel Hill Cemetery at 10776 McKinley Hwy, Osceola, In 46561.
