Sandra W. Moses, 83, of Ridgefield, longtime resident of Cheshire, CT, died peacefully on Sunday, February 13, 2022. She was the loving wife of 62 years of Alan J. Moses, and adored mother of Steven (Tracey) Moses, Laura (Joseph) Ancona, and Debra (Ray) Kahn. In addition, Mrs. Moses treasured her 10 grandchildren: Russell, Logan (Kaelyn), Quinton, Teagan (Drew), Joshua, William (Kimberly), Benjamin, Emily, Ryan, and Julia.
Mrs. Moses was born on September 29, 1938 in Troy, NY, the daughter of the late Samuel and Berdie (Cutler) Levy and sister to the late Melvyn Levy. Always known for her sense of style, Mrs. Moses studied fashion design at Bryant College, but was unable to complete her degree because she was needed back home to help her parents with their grocery business. She then enrolled in a secretarial program at the Mildred Elley School and was hired as an assistant to a physics professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. This would turn out to be the most fortuitous decision of her life, for it is where she met her future husband Alan, then a student at RPI. As what can only be described as "love at first sight," they married the following year and spent the next 62 years madly in love, rarely seen apart.
Mrs. Moses inherited her mother's green thumb. She loved flowers and was a member of the Cheshire Garden Club. She was also an accomplished pianist and published songwriter, frequently making up songs to sing to her many grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping, and was fortunate to travel all over the world with her husband. Above all else though, her greatest joy was in being a wife, mother, and grandmother. If you knew Sandy, you knew that nothing made her happier than being with her family.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Temple Sholom, Greenwich. Burial followed at Cedar Park Cemetery - Sanctuary of Sarah and Abraham; Paramus NJ. Kane Funeral Home, Ridgefield was in care of arrangements.
