Proverbs 17:17 says, "A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." During her time here on Earth, Sandra "Sandy" Meadows exemplified this truth in the way she loved her family, her friends, and her church family. Her friends and family knew her as someone who would listen to them, pray for them, and encourage them daily. She was an example of the biblical command: "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you." (John 15:12)
Sandy was born on February 15, 1956, in Atlanta, Georgia to Ed and Dot Morris. She was one of 8 children, so she quickly learned how to serve others, love others, and pray for others as she helped her parents with her siblings. Her gift of serving others continued on as she grew up and became a mother to her daughter Claire and her son Jacob. She was often on the side-lines, cheering her children on, and becoming a second mother to their friends. Sandy was heavily involved in her church, and became a woman who ministered to those who were hurting, needing prayer, and encouragement. Many friends were blessed by letters, notes, and sweet cards that she mailed them. Sandy loved the Lord, and she was often the hands and feet of Christ as she loved and encouraged others.
Her life Bible verse was Joshua 1:9, which says, "Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and and of a good courage; be not be afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." Sandy used the Lord's presence in her life to give her strength, dignity, and courage as she helped others, whether it was through her job as a case worker for mentally disabled adults, or as a teacher at her children's Christian school. She ministered to bereaved parents, volunteered at her church, and served those in need.
Sandy entered the presence of her Lord on August 30, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Shirley Smallwood; her brothers, Edward, John, and Nathan Morris; her sister-in-law, Marty Morris; her son-in-law A. Elliott Burnsed; and her son, Jacob Meadows.
She is survived by her daughter, Claire Burnsed; Aunt Betty Robinson; sister, Diane New and her husband Mike; brother, Tommy Morris; brother, Justin Morris and his wife Teresa; sister-in-law, Sandra Morris; grandchildren, Ethan and Layne Burnsed and Reilley White as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
