Sandra Janette Warren, 77, of Gorman, Texas, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Monday, April 18, 2022, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Wichita Falls, Texas, after a long and hard-fought illness.
Sandy was born in Gorman on July 17, 1944 to Frank and Clara Midkiff of Moran, Texas. Sandy attended all twelve years of school at Moran where she made lifelong friends. She cherished her school years. She was a cheerleader and football sweetheart and participated in activities such as band and FHA. After graduating from Moran High School in 1962 she attended business school in Abilene, Texas. She worked for over twenty years at Golden Peanut Company in Comyn, Texas. She also made cakes for the public and was well-known for her beautifully decorated and delicious-tasting cakes and cookies. She made cakes for several generations of families in Gorman and the surrounding area. She was also admired for her beautiful natural handwriting and artistic talents.
Sandy began her most important and successful career in 1964 when she had her first child and became a mother. She moved to Gorman in 1971 and raised her family there. She continued to reside in Gorman until moving to Wichita Falls in 2017 to be cared for by her daughter. Her family home is still in Gorman. She attended the Gorman First Baptist Church.
Sandy was preceded in death by her loving parents, Frank and Clara Midkiff; and husbands, Ross Don Odell and Jimmy Gail Warren. She is survived by her four children, Kayla Carlock and husband Jim of Wichita Falls, Kristi Thompson and husband Larry of Gorman, Michael Warren of Georgetown, and Jason Bledsoe and wife Stephanie of Canyon; granddaughters, Kori Warren and Jaidyn Koch; grandsons, Stetson and Stratton Thompson, Dustin, Chayton, Declan, and Odin Bledsoe and Brycn Koch; two great-grandchildren, Straleigh and Strayson Thompson; sister, Sharon Mitchell; nieces, Sheryl Scott, Sharla Owen, and Melanie Mitchell; and nephew, Chance Mitchell all of Albany.
The family will receive friends at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Moran followed by funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Moran Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Floral services are being provided by Buds For You in Albany, Texas.
