Sandy writes: Sandra Avis Burnside was born in Minot, ND on September 12, 1945 to Walter and Avis King. I loved my Lord, my family, my church, and life itself. On February 24, 1968 she married the love of her life Vaughn Burnside in Chesterton, IN. They had two daughters Melenie and Kathryn. After the girls moved out of the house, Sandy and Vaughn danced in the living room and read about a million books in retirement, always enjoying each other's company (almost always!). They laughed a lot and traveled with friends, family, and together as a couple. Grandchildren were played with, loved, and spoiled. Her hobbies were sewing, cooking, making pies, gardening, and reading, reading, reading. Sandy wanted to include - this was written by Sandy, she always wanted to be in charge! A memorial service will be held in the spring or summer of 2022. A memorial fund has been established in Sandy's memory.
