Sandra Speir Haynes Buchholz, 79, of Cuthbert passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at her home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, in the Cuthbert First Baptist Church with Rev. Tom McClendon officiating. Graveside service will follow at 3:30 PM in the Bronwood City Cemetery.
Sandra was born on May 9, 1944, in Bronwood, GA the daughter of the late Joshua Lloyd Speir and the late Florence Reese Speir. She was a graduate of Terrell County High School and attended Valdosta State University. She was a devoted homemaker and a member of the Cuthbert First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Howard Clark Haynes and her second husband, Barry T. Buchholz and 2 brothers, Carl Lavonne Speir and James Dalton Speir.
Throughout her life, Sandra reflected God's goodness and kindness to others which included her warm, caring smile. She displayed the Lord's love in her selfless character by always putting the needs of others before her own. She loved her family dearly and was deeply devoted to them. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to new and different locations, especially the Caribbean Islands. Sandra was also gifted at cooking and expressed her love for others by cooking and baking for them, which included the best caramel cake. During the warm months, she could be found working hard outside in her yard creating beautiful flower beds with perennials and annuals for all to enjoy. She had a unique love of birds and enjoyed watching those that called her yard home, especially the hummingbirds.
Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly (Tyler) Webb of Auburn, AL, 2 sons, Rusty (Trisha) Haynes of Dawson and Tim Haynes of Columbus, a sister, Betty Sanders of Atlanta, and 9 grandchildren, Taylor Haynes, Dylan Haynes, Lillianna Webb, Tucker Webb, Cale Webb, Sterling Webb, Annabelle Webb, Lane Webb and Hampton Webb.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:30 PM until the start of the service at the church on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the building fund at the Cuthbert First Baptist Church at P. O. Box 274, Cuthbert, GA 39840.
