Samuel Louis Ruddie, of Owings Mills, MD, passed away on Saturday, February 13th, 2021 at the age of 101. He is survived by his cherished children, Stan (Libby) Ruddie and Carol (Bill) Richman; brother, Gilbert Ruddie; grandchildren, Emily (Ben) Rubenstein, Nathan Richman, Jessica Ruddie, and Sarah Ruddie; great-grandchildren, Nina and Jake Rubenstein; and his dear cousin, Evelyn Hauser. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rhoda B. Ruddie (nee Blanshay), originally of Montreal, Canada; siblings, Israel Ruddie and Dorothy Arnoff; and parents, Etta and Jacob Ruddie.
Samuel was a patriotic World War II Army veteran, dedicated husband, caring father, and loyal friend. He was an excellent business manager and accountant, and founder of a Baltimore accounting practice. Samuel will be remembered as a raconteur, socialite, and world traveler. He had many interests and was an SBA score advisor, accomplished athlete, a skier until 75 years of age, and a daily bridge player until March 2020. Committed to giving back to the community, he was a dedicated volunteer to the Baltimore Visitors Center for over 20 years, as well as a pious member and regular attendee of Beth Tfiloh Congregation. He lived independently at the Atrium Village until two week before contracting the Covid virus.

Interment will be private at Maryland Veterans Cemetery - Garrison Forest Road. Please omit flowers.
