Samuel F. Honeycutt, Jr., age 76, passed away peacefully at home on October 9, 2019, following an extended illness. He was a 45 year resident of Hudson, Ohio.
Born in Gastonia, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Samuel F. Honeycutt, Sr. and Laura Clark Honeycutt. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Dotty; dearest chiildren, Timothy, Patrick and Laura (Bill); sister, Phyllis; brother, Jeffrey (Sandra); grandchildren, Brantly and Sam and two great-grandchildren.
Sam was a sports enthusiast. He followed all of his favorite teams and was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. He also enjoyed golfing, music and reading. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
At Garfield High, Sam was a star athlete. While attending Akron University, he began his working career at Firestone which launched a forty year career in the rubber industry. His early working career was in production management, plant management and sales of custom mixing products. Under Polysar, Inc., as Major Tire Account Manager, Sam seviced the tire industry in both Domestic and International sales of synthetic rubber. Under Bayer Corporation, he continued servicing major tire accounts in the sale of butyl and rubber chemicals, retiring from Bayer with over thirty years of service.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11:00AM at Johnson-Romito Funeral Home, 19 E. Main St. (on the square), Hudson, OH 44236.
