Samuel Ross Fox, Jr., born July 28,1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah, left this mortal life on October 25, 2022 in Monroe, WA. He was 93. He served his country in the US Coast Guard. He graduated from the U of Utah and worked as a Surgeon until he retired in 2016. He especially enjoyed fishing, hunting, flying, triathlons, and marathons. He was very active in The American Cancer Society and The American Society for Bariatric Surgery, holding Presidencies in each. Ross also received the ACS' highest award, The Saint George Medal for outstanding Volunteerism. He was also known for his KIRO radio and TV shows "You and Your Health" and "House Calls", (1973-1988). He is survived by his wife, Katherine, sons Earl (Tracey), Brent (Robyn), David (Jama), and Steven (Debra), Step-daughters Angela Doscher, and Kristina Elledge (Todd), sister Joyce Buehner, brothers Richard (Barbara), and Charles (Sandra), 22 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirlene Belnap Fox, brothers Thomas and Edward, brother-in-law T. Buehner and parents, Samuel and Blanch South Fox. A service honoring his life will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022, at 11 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 17332 Tester Road, Monroe, WA, with viewing from 9:30 to 10:30. Burial at the IOOF Cemetery, Monroe, WA. Ross will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Seattle, WA.
