Samuel Ethan Bollinger was born into the arms of Jesus at 4:33 PM on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend to Katie (Miller) and Nathan Bollinger. He weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces and was 21-1/4" long.
He is survived by his parents; his sisters, Grace and Brielle; brother, Caleb; maternal grandparents, Larry and Debbie Miller of Germantown Hills, IL; paternal grandparents, Jim and Ann Bollinger of Niles, MI; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Samuel was the answer to his parents' prayers, and his birth was eagerly anticipated by his family. While he was still developing in his mother's womb, his parents named him Samuel, which means "God has heard," and Ethan, which means "strong, safe." Even through the pain of their earthly loss, Samuel's family is comforted by the certainty that he has now been made completely strong and safe in the arms of God who heard their prayers. And because of their trust in their Savior Jesus Christ, they live in the hope of being reunited with Samuel once more in heaven.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)
