Samuel Ray Bates, 57, of Evansville, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020. He was born on April 17, 1963 to Hugh and Mary (Choate) Bates.
Sam was preceded in death by his wife, Patty (Croft) Bates, his parents; special aunt, Helen "Ahmy" Bates; and grandparents, Wesley Earl and Florence Bates.
He is survived by his sisters, Peggy Simmons of Evansville, Joanne Bates and Mary Houchin both of Princeton; brothers, Charles Metz, Bill Bates, and Rob Bates all of Evansville and Tom Bates (Brandy) of Princeton; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
No services will be held.
