The Lord called home the most loving and compassionate husband, father, papa, and friend anyone could ask for. He devoted his life to his family and their needs. Samuel Gene Baker, 72, of Jacobsburg, Ohio, died August 1, 2021, at 11:45 a.m. at his home in Crowley, Texas surrounded by his loved ones. He was born February 10,1949, a son of the late Russell and Evelyn (Dunlap) Baker in Jacobsburg, Ohio. Samuel was in the Army for three years and Government worker and a Christian by faith. He was married to his soulmate and love of his life Beth Ann (Pierson) Baker of Clarington, Ohio on June 3, 1972. They had 49 wonderful years together. He was the father to three children and eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Samuel was preceded in death by his parents (Russell and Evelyn Baker) and brothers-in-laws (John Albert Pierson, Jr, E. Kennon Pierson, and David Boyce).
He is survived by his wife (Beth Ann Baker), his children Samantha Baker of Burleson, Texas, Mary Lucy Baker Brown of Crowley, Texas, and Brad Allan (Jessica)Baker of Brighton, Colorado. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren Justine Rebbeca Brown of Crowley, Texas, Elle Ann Wahynemah Baker of Crowley, Texas, Jazamine Amelia Nikole Brown of Crowley, Texas, Taylor Nicole Baker of Brighton, Colorado, Clifford Samuel Brown of Crowley, Texas, Ashlynn Jo-Ann Baker of Brighton, Colorado, Gabrielle Allana Baker of Brighton, Colorado and Samuel David Baker of Brighton, Colorado. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers Joyce (Larry) McNear of Powhatan Point, Ohio, Constance (Connie) Boyce of Fairmont, West Virginia, James (Sharon) Baker of Jacobsburg, Ohio and Charles (Candy) Baker of Hannibal, Ohio. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flower you can make a donation to Wounded Warriors Project in his name. Service will be held in Jacobsburg, Ohio on September 6, 2021.
