Salvatore Cerullo was born December 29th, 1934. He was married to his wife Anna for 61 years
who he lost 3 years ago. He is survived by his 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Salvatore was an immigrant from Naples, Italy, and moved to Canada in 1958 with 9 pennies. He
worked in many jobs including an assembly line, car washes, picking tomatoes, and working
construction. He moved to Michigan in 1969 and started a construction company with his two brothers
in law. He was a skilled excavator operator who could have picked up a pencil with an excavator bucket.
He worked from sunrise to sunset in the summer and harsh winter months. Salvatore moved to Florida
in 1980 in anticipation of better weather, but found that it was very hot and humid.
In his retirement years, he designed and built his and Anna's dream home. After being in the
hospital for a month and a half, Salvatore was able to go home for a night and enjoy his favorite meal,
Anna's homemade spaghetti sauce and meatball recipe. He passed away the next morning. Salvatore
was kind, friendly, generous, hardworking, and he loved God. He was a sensitive man who cried at the
drop of a hat. He raised his family in a loving but firm manner and was proud of their many
accomplishments. He enjoyed watching the Buccaneers, Lightning, playing Scopa cards and telling
stories with family and friends. Salvatore is so loved and will be missed forever.
