Sally Tomana, of Sewickley, passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 11, 2022, with her husband and daughters by her side. Sally was born Christmas Day, 1955, in Pittsburgh, the youngest of four children to the late Norbert and Pauline Vater, of Moon. She is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Mike Tomana; and her cherished daughters, Christine Poluszejko (David), Katie Holloway (Jay) and Laura. She is also survived by her brothers, Tom and Nordy Vater; sister, Nancy Ankney; five grandchildren, Grace, Emme, AnnaCate, Jack and Caroline; mother-in-law, Georgeann Tomana; sister-in-law, Joyce Tomana; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sally was a graduate of Moon Area High School and a 1978 graduate of the University of Kentucky. Sally retired in 2020 after a 40-year career with American Airlines with plans to travel the world with Mike and spoil her grandchildren. Sally was loved by all who knew her due to her grace, humility, cheerfulness and engaging smile. She was devoted to her family and friends and volunteered her time to others without reservation, remembering her father's guidance to "always do the right thing." Friends are invited to attend a service and celebration of Sally's life at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at Christ Church at Grove Farm. Arrangements are entrusted to R.D. COPELAND of Moon.
