S. Michael Michael Hughes

S. Michael Hughes, 57, of Denver, NC, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

He was born on August 16, 1966, in Oxford, Mississippi to Robert and Carolyn Tallant Hughes.

Michael was a proud father to Riley Norah Hughes. He took great joy in watching her grow into the amazing young lady she is becoming. He was a graduate of the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), an institution that he supported passionately. His most joyous times were spent with his family, boating on Lake Norman, and watching the Rebels on gameday.

He worked with The Hershey Company for over 30 years and more recently was employed by Kind Snacks in sales. He also spent as much time as possible supporting members of the local Alcoholic Anonymous chapter.

In addition to his parents, those left to cherish Michael's memory are his loving wife, Maribeth Dobbins Hughes; daughter, Riley Norah Hughes; sister, Melody Green (Bently); nephews, Bently and Walker Green; niece, Farris Green, and numerous relatives in Mississippi who will miss him dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Denver United Methodist Church in Denver with Pastor Steve Autrey officiating.

There will be a service held in Oxford, MS at a later date.
