Ryan Wilson Vanderby went to be with his heavenly Father on Friday July 1, 2022. He was born November 5, 1971, in Bozeman, Montana to Wilson and Shirley Vanderby. Ryan was baptized in the Bethel Christian Reform Church in Churchill, MT. He lived his first seven and half years in Manhattan, MT.
His family moved to Edgerton in 1980. Ryan attended Southwest Christian schools and graduated in 1991.
On June 12, 1999, Ryan married Ronica Van Westen. They were blessed with two boys, Anthony (AJ) and Austin. Ryan enjoyed watching them grow and playing sports over the years.
Ryan’s first job was working for Wes Stevens when he was a teenager. He started working for the City of Edgerton in the eighth grade and continued working there for the next 19 years. In 2006, he began working for Van Dyke Sanitation. He also served as the janitor at Bethel Christian Reform Church in Edgerton and drove truck for Eric Prins Trucking at this time. However, health issues forced him into early retirement.
Ryan enjoyed fishing, hunting with his dad, and camping with his family. They enjoyed ice fishing, ATV and trail riding trips, as well as spending time with family and friends. Ryan also enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins.
Ryan will be remembered for his work ethic and willingness to help out. He had a quick wit and a gentle spirit. He displayed strength, endurance, and firm faith throughout his years of health issues. When he was physically able, he was always ready to help anywhere needed, mowing, fixing, or cleaning up.
Ryan is lovingly remembered by his wife, Ronica, and sons Anthony (AJ) Vanderby (and special friend Sage) and Austin Vanderby; his parents Bill and Shirley Vanderby of Edgerton; his mother and father-in law, Arlyn and Rose Vander Beek; his brother Rory Vanderby (Marcia) of Alto, Mich; his brothers and sisters-in law Rochelle (Johnny) Van Ede of Wilmont; Robyn (Ryan) Baumgard of Norfolk, NE; Rory (Leah) Van Westen of Sherman, S.D.; Chad (Keri) Vander Beek of Luverne; and Kristen (Chad) Lillico of Edgerton; and his nieces and nephews Makayla, Jace, and Brittyn Vanderby, and Kody, Emory, Kassandra (Wayne), Olivia, Samuel, Carter, Kylie, Karsyn, Cooper, Cody, Ashton, and Jordyn.
