Ruth Wittrock, age 71, of Clark, SD, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2021, at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown, SD. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at the Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Clark, SD. Pastor Randy Bader will officiate. Music will be provided by Barb Wegman as organist with Danny Schmidt as soloist. The service will be Live-Streamed via Crawford-Osthus' Facebook page, and on 104.9 FM in church parking lot.
Visitation will be at the Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel in Watertown, SD, on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Face masks are required for both the visitation and service.
Burial will be at a later date at the Rosehill Cemetery in Clark, SD. Honorary pallbearers will be Ruth's granddaughters, great-grandchildren, nieces and her nephew, Maj. Chad Wika. Active pallbearers are: Charlie Zeck, Tom Wurscher, Mike Flora, Jim Zeck, Brock Wurscher and Derrick Daniels.
Ruth was born on September 18, 1949, in Watertown, SD, to Reamer and Helen (Claussen) Bowers. She attended school in Clark, SD, graduating in 1968. She then attended Watertown Business University. On November 15, 1969, Ruth was united in marriage to James Wittrock at Peace Lutheran Church in Clark, SD. Ruth was employed in the restaurant and bar industry for several years, then at the Clark School working in the kitchen. She then worked at the Golden Living Center in Clark as a cook. Ruth was currently employed at Jenkins Living Center in the activity department. Her hobbies included reading and traveling. Her greatest times were spent with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Sherri (Shane) Daniels of Clark, SD; three grandchildren: Derrick, Tori and Clarissa; two great-grandchildren, Bruce Bethke and Hadlie Carroll; her sisters, Rita (Charlie) Zeck of Clark, SD and Rae Jean (Mike) Flora of Clark, SD; and her brother-in-law, Tom Wurscher of Milroy, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her sister, Vicki Wurscher.
