Ruth Wisnauski, 91, of Genoa City, WI answered the call of her Lord on March 6, 2022.
Ruth grew up on the family farm in rural Hebron, IL. She attended Burgett School, a one room school house for grades 1-8 and is a 1948 graduate of Alden-Hebron High School where she was a cheerleader. Ruth was an excellent dancer especially the jitterbug and danced often to the sounds of the big bands that played throughout the area.
Ruth married the love of her life, John Wisnauski, in 1950 and they took up residence in Genoa City, WI, where they would live the rest of their lives.Together they raised two children and were active in the local school, community and neighborhood. Ruth was an accomplished baker and would get great joy out of blessing others with surprise goodies. She had a big heart and a caring spirit with which she touched many lives.
Ruth worked for the former Admiral Corporation in McHenry, IL, a local grocery store, and would retire from the Claude S. Gordon Co., Richmond, IL.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, Charles and Elizabeth (Behrens) Marzahl, brothers, Ralph, Chester, Ernest, Kenneth, Leslie, Benjamin and a sister, Charlotte (Christenberry). She is survived by her children, Brett (Lori) and Brenda (Majid) Karim and two grandchildren, Zeena and Khaleel.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 12, 2022, at 10AM at the First Congregational Church, 624 Park St., Genoa City, WI. The family requests that attendees consider wearing something purple in honor of Ruth.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Bloomfield-Genoa City Rescue Squad or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, Memphis
