On the 23rd of July, in the year of our Lord, 2021, our mother, Ruth Redger passed from us to be in her heavenly home.
Ruth was born June 18, 1936, in Lyons, Kansas, and was raised in Cimarron, Kansas. She was a very loving and caring mother, wife, daughter, and sister. Ruth was always a good neighbor and coworker. She loved the opportunity to fit in any way she could to help. Ruth enjoyed collecting commemorative plates, stamps, photos, and coins, her piano, genealogy, baking and her friends. In her golden years, Ruth worked for the Shawnee County Election office, where she enjoyed her work and coworkers. She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary in Liberal, Kansas.
Ruth is survived by her sons, Steven Soliday and wife Julia, and Chris Soliday and wife Lara; stepchildren, Lee Redger and wife Marie, Patricia Miller and husband Wendell, James Redger and wife Jane; grandchildren, Emily, Sarah, Mark, and Tabitha; 9 step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and siblings, Leona Keene, Joseph Stewart, James Stewart, and Joellyn Cotton and husband Ed. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Kenneth Redger, and parents, J. Leslie and Nellie Stewart, and stepdaughter Dawn Redger.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 29, 2021, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3611 SW Jewell Ave, Topeka KS 66611, where visitation will be one-hour prior. Burial will follow in Mission Center Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the General Missionary Fund at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or to the American Legion and Auxiliary Unit 80 and sent in care of Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Rd, Topeka KS 66614.
