Ruth Poljevka
December 16, 1930-June 16, 2022
Ruth grew up in the Washington DC area and then raised her own family in Collingswood, NJ with her husband Emil. Ruth was kind, caring, generous, selfless, and always put the needs of others before her own. She spent countless hours volunteering in soup kitchens, sponsoring children in need at Sacred Heart in Camden, donating to charities, teaching children and being the best person and example that she knew how to be. If you ever had the pleasure of meeting Ruth, you would immediately understand how truly special she was, and how much family, the church and children meant to her, and how much her love for God was engrained in every aspect of her life.
Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Emil. Ruth is survived by her brother, BF Saul II (Patricia) and her children, Andrew (Alena), Rose (Kyle) and Frank (Andrea). Ruth was also the proud grandmother of 8 grandchildren: Rachel, Kyle, Kelly, Samantha, Kevin, Andy, Tom, and Anastasia. Ruth also cherished her long-time friend, Marites (Tess) Wetherill, who cared for both Ruth and Emil.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 10:30 am at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, St. John's Church, 809 Park Ave, Collingswood with a Funeral Mass at 11:30am. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill. Under the Care of the Blake-Doyle Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to World Vision International at www.worldvision.org/donate.
