Ruth Ethel Francois transitioned from this earthly life on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 8:01pm at her home in Convent, LA. She was born on January 19, 1926 to the parentage of Peter and Ophelia Caroline Jasper. She was married to the late Houston Francois, Sr. To this union four children were born: Houston Francois, Jr. (deceased), Larry Francois, Yvette Alexis and Darlene Riley. Ruth is survived by her siblings: Dorothy Macklin, Louis Jasper and Eula Jasper. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Odile Williams, Charlie Jasper, Samuel Jasper, Peter Jasper, Sr., and Lawrence Jasper, and also her grandsons: Steven Riley, Jr., and Houston Francois, Jr. Ruth was employed by the St. James Parish School Board for over 30 years. She worked as a cook at Central and Romeville Elementary. She was also the manager. She is remembered best for her elegant taste in clothing, her wittiness, her strong sense of family values, her warm heart towards others, and her joy in giving to others. Ruth was a faithful, loyal and dedicated member of Pilgrim Full Gospel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Richard Rayborn, Sr., Richard Rayborn, Jr., and currently served faithfully under Rev. Marshall Cooper until her health began to fail. Relatives, friends of the family, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Home-going Celebration of our dearly beloved Ruth Francois at Pilgrim Full Gospel Baptist Church, 10140 Legion St., Convent, LA 70723 on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will be held from 9am-11am. Service will begin promptly at 11am. Entombment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Houston. Final care and professional services entrusted to Treasures of Life Funeral Services. Due to Covid-19 regulations and guidelines, masks are Required!!
