Russell Cleveland "Rusty" Elburn of Galena, MD died on May 30, 2021 at Calvert Manor Center in Rising Sun, MD. He was 64.
He was born in Chestertown on June 11, 1956 the son of the late Emory Cleveland and Margaret Ann Connolley Elburn.
Rusty was educated in Chestertown and Kennedyville, MD. He worked in several local businesses in the communities he resided, most notably with Hidden Treasurers. He was a member of the Chester Wye and the Kent Center Community Family.
Rusty will be remembered for his love of Elvis, wearing cowboy hats, making people laugh, cheering for the WWE, watching old TV shows, and loving his family.
He was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Chestertown and a regular attendee.
He is survived by his brother: Steve Elburn (Nanette) of Port Deposit, MD, a sister: Sharon McDermott (Sean) of Long Island, NY, a brother-in-law: Glenn Gillis of Aberdeen, MD, and nieces and nephews: Erin and Maura Elburn, Mike (Nichole) and Katie Gillis, and Sean (Ariana) and Connor McDermott, along with three great nephews and one great niece. One sister the late Mary Ellen "Ellie" Gillis predeceased him in 2016.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home 130 Speer Road Chestertown where relatives and friends may call one hour prior to the service (10-11). Interment will be in Chester Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Kent Center, Inc. 215 Scheeler Rd. Chestertown, MD. 21620. www.fhnfuneralhome.com
