Rudolph Thomas Russ , 76 Jun 19, 1944 - Feb 28, 2021 Rudolph Thomas Russ, 76, of 333 Bethune Avenue in Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away peacefully at Doey's House (Hospice of Washington County) on February 28, 2021. He was born in Hagerstown on June 19, 1944. Rudy attended North Hagerstown High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for several employers throughout his career in Hagerstown. Rudy was employed by Brandt Cabinet Works, Turner's Taxi Service, and Baltimore Street Car Wash. He was well known for his kindness and dedicated service to the community. Rudy is survived by his wife (Frankie A. Russ) of Hagerstown, three children Dwayne Freeman (Nissa Freeman), Dorothea Russ (Sharron Clark), and Rudy Russ Jr. all from Hagerstown. 9 grandchildren Kayla Freeman, Hayley Freeman (Raleigh, NC), Bryhanna Masser, Taejon Gill, Dasani Russ, Cassius Freeman, Casryn Freeman, Antonio Clark, and Bryson Russ of Hagerstown.
He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and very close friends. Rudy was preceded in death by his parents Eva Williams Russ and William McKinley Russ, Sr. He was also preceded in death by 13 siblings: Beatrice, Betty, Margaret, Juanita, Dorothea, Catherine, William Jr., Nelson, Allen, Roy Sr., Franklin Sr., James Sr., and Kenneth.
Friends and relatives will be received at Harman Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac Street, Hagerstown, MD 21740 on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m.
Interment will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Hospice of Washington County for their support and services during this difficult time. The family would also like to acknowledge Miss Jeannie Carroll-Keys for her distinguished acts of love and dedication during this transition.
