On the afternoon of August 12, 2021, Rudy passed away peacefully of natural causes. Rudy was comforted by family members at the Mayfair Village Retirement Community in Lexington, KY at the time of his passing. Rudy was 85 years old. Rudy Morgan was born in Owen County, Kentucky on June 26, 1936. He was the first of four children by Gladys and Lester Morgan. Rudy graduated from Owen County High School in 1954, then graduated from Georgetown College, majoring in Physics. Following college, Rudy moved to Cleveland, OH and worked several years for an Engineering firm. Rudy returned to central Kentucky and worked as an Electrical Engineer for over 20 years at Square D in Lexington. He then finished his career working in his family-owned Real Estate Company in Lexington. Rudy was known for his wit and sense of humor. He couldn't and wouldn't let a moment pass without telling a joke. He was a history buff who enjoyed reading, watching the Cleveland Browns, collecting coins and playing chess with siblings and grandchildren. Rudy was preceded in death by: Mark Morgan (son), Kenneth Morgan (brother), and John Gilliam Jr. (nephew). Rudy is survived by: Anne Morgan (wife) of Lexington, Barbara L. Stiefel (daughter) of Versailles, Phillip Stiefel (son-in-law) of Versailles, Zachary and Cassidy Stiefel (grandchildren) of Versailles, Barbara A. Morgan (sister), Dale Morgan (brother), Graham Morgan (nephew), Leif Morgan (nephew), Mason Morgan (nephew), and Tina Morgan (niece). At Rudy's request, there will be no funeral or memorial service. His immediate family will participate in a small, private ceremony.
