Ruby Lois Wideman, 86, Farragut, TN, went home to be with her Lord the evening of Wednesday, September 16, 2020. She was born August 10, 1934 in Blount Co, AL to Robert Otus and Ruby Kelton McAnnally. She graduated from JB Pennington High School in 1952 and went on to work in Birmingham where she met Jim, the love of her life and husband of 67 years. She and Jim started a family in Midfield, AL later moving to Jacksonville, FL and Chattanooga, TN. They spent most of their retirement years in Garden City and Cullman, AL, moving to Farragut, TN in 2014 to be near a daughter and 3 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers James Otus, Norman Ray and Joe Ted McAnnally. She is survived by her loving husband James R Wideman; daughters Cyndi Russell and Vickie (Jeff) England; grandchildren Bruce (Chelsea) Russell, III, Kathryn Russell, Bradford Russell, Philip England, Patrick England, George England; sisters Betty Dial, Jane Gamble, Nell (Wilford) Butts, Carolyn (Hugh) Adams; many dear nieces and nephews.
Lois was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was also a faithful member of several Baptist church congregations, most recently Northbrook Baptist Church, Cullman, AL.
She loved her family and friends fiercely and unconditionally. She enjoyed flowers, birds, nature and reading. She was very fond of talking about her years growing up on the farm in Blount Co, AL. She will surely be remembered for her beautiful smile, welcoming spirit and generous nature. She was a wonderful listener. She was often described as "the sweetest person you will ever meet". Her light will shine on in everyone who knew and loved her.

Graveside service will be Wednesday, September 23 at 1:00pm at Garden City Cemetery, Garden City, AL.
