Ruby Lorena Thomas, 90, of Martinsville, passed away Friday, October 9, 2020 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital.
She was born Saturday, October 19, 1929 to the late Henry and Ethel (Ewing) Piercefield in Martinsville. On February 11, 1950, she married her husband, John H. Thomas who passed away September 28, 2005.
Ruby was a 1949 graduate of Martinsville High School. She worked in the customer service department at Indiana Power and Light for several years before her retirement. Ruby loved doing craftwork and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, John C. Thomas (Brenda), Jim Thomas (Linda); grandchildren, Samantha (Eric), Monica (Matt), Jeremy (Tera), Jennifer (Brad), Matt (Ashley), Trenton (Kimmie), Trevon (Tiffany); 16 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her husband and parents; son, Robert "Bob" Thomas; siblings, Charles Piercefield, Paulyne Brown, Ziegler Piercefield, Genevive Whetstine.
A Celebration of Life for Ruby will be held at a later date.
