Ruby L. Covell, 82, of Haines City, FL went to be with the Lord on December 29, 2022. She was born on June 12, 1940, in Galesburg, IL to Charles and Carmella Mugavero Gatt. Ruby worked as a secretary at Galesburg High School until she moved to Sarasota in 1980 and then as an executive secretary in the hospitality industry until her retirement in 2002. She was a member of St. Martha's Catholic Church in Sarasota, FL. Ruby moved to Haines City August 1st, 2022.
Ruby enjoyed her home, reading, socializing with her friends, going to the beach, and spending time with her dog, Izzy. She showed kindness, concern for others, and devotion to her family and friends. There was nobody more elfless than Ruby, always putting everyone else first. Her family will remember her as a sassy, independent, proud and strong woman.
She is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Carmella; first husband, Wayne Webb; second husband, Roy Covell; and daughter, Tracy Clark. Ruby leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Lisa Cole and husband, Michael of Haines City, FL; brother, Larry Gatt, Sr. and wife, Elaine of Sarasota, FL; and her loving grandson, Bodie Cole of Haines City, FL.
