Ruben Rosales Espinosa, 67 of Santa Paula passed to eternal peace on Friday, February 26, 2021.
Ruben was born June 27, 1953 to Josephine and Teodoro Espinosa. He had been a resident of Santa Paula for 60 plus years. Ruben was a foreman for the Santa Paula Orange Company where he started at the age of 17, and retired after 40 years. He found joy in working so he continued at Roadrunner (VCTC), driving buses for 13 years. In his spare time he taught his sons about working on classic cars. He was very skilled, rebuilding vehicles to car show level with his own hands and winning trophies. He often attended concerts, car shows, and made sure to participate wholeheartedly in any activity his sons wanted to do. You could catch him at the fair for 4-H, Santa Paula Little League, and his favorite Santa Paula Football Field, where he provided the team support in all forms. His happiest moments were spent with his grandchildren, attending his grandsons' football games at fields all over the county, ending up at his granddaughter's softball and soccer games, attending dance performances and most of all spoiling them completely.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Espinosa and father Teodoro Espinosa; two sisters, Rosa and Sylvia, niece Mercedes Espinosa Corosco, and nephew Timothy Cervantes.
Ruben is survived by his loving sons, Ruben Espinosa Jr, Mark Espinosa and wife Rene`, Richard Espinosa and wife Yvette. His eight precious grandchildren; Gabrielle, Christopher, Anessa, Analisa, Aliana, Isaac, Aubrey and Zoey. Also, his three sisters: Gloria Beltran, Margaret Espinosa and Norma Prado (husband) Manuel Prado Jr., along with his many nieces and nephews, and spouse Glenda Standridge Espinosa. He will also leave behind his loyal childhood friends, his beloved dog BeBe and most especially his adoring companion, Carmen Magdaleno.
Our dad's legacy will continue to live on through the memories he placed in our hearts. His friends will remember their seemingly endless conversations. Every friend of ours that we brought home he adopted as his own. His giving heart touched so many, his fighting spirit taught us so much, and his traditional values showed us what a man should be. We will hold his legacy close, and cherish what our dad was to so many, but more importantly what he was to us, a good man.
