Ruben Henry Benavides, age 58, resident of San Antonio, Texas went to be with his Lord on February 27th, 2021. He was born on December 11th, 1962, in McAllen, Texas.
Ruben was a kind and loving person. He had a laugh that was contagious and a smile that could light up the room. He made an impact on many lives. He loved sports, was fun-loving, and loved playing jokes on his sisters and friends. His youngest sister, Norma, seemed to be the one that was on the receiving end of most of the jokes. He loved spending time with his daughters and grandchildren, which were his greatest joy. He had a love for Jesus, and he lived his life to the fullest. Ruben was an ordained minister who served in youth ministries, and he worked for BBVA. Ruben was a graduate of W.B. Ray High School. He also attended Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Texas and Pillsbury Baptist Bible College in Owatonna, Minnesota.
We will miss his smile, laughter, and banter. Most of all, he was a devoted Christian, loving son, father, brother, grandfather, and mentor who was always willing to help others. Ruben was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Ruben Benavides and survived by his mother Mary Benavides; daughters Brittney (Aaron) grandsons (Christian and Nicholas), Bianca (Sven); sisters Belinda, Sandra, and Norma (Jerry); nieces and nephews Jacob, Andrea, Justin, Allison (Matthew); grandnephews Connor and Josiah.
"Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses." - 1 Timothy 6:12
