Roy Young, Jr.

Roy Olear Young, Jr. was promoted to glory on February 14, 2024, at the age of 80. Roy was born April 1, 1943, in Memphis, TN. He graduated from Bishop Dubourg High School in St Louis, MO in 1961 and then joined the US Air Force where he served for 4 years. During his service he was transferred to Ft Worth, TX where he met and married his soulmate Amelia Ann Hogan Schmitz. They have lived in Carrollton, TX for 54 years where they raised their family. He was an amazing salesman who worked for several companies before starting his own business. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Mary Immaculate Church for over 50 years.

In addition to his family, he loved deer hunting and fishing. His contagious smile and sense of humor are what he is most remembered for.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy O Young Sr. & Virginia Ann Corbett. He is survived by his wife, Ann, his children Eileen and Randy Richards, Roy and Tammy Young, Angela and Andy Moffitt, Guy and Wendy Young, and his sisters, Joyce Stephens and Martha Johnson. He has 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

His Memorial Service will be held on March 5, 2024, at Mary Immaculate Church, Farmers Branch, TX. Rosary at 10am followed by Mass at 10:30.
