Roy Moultrie Walden, 77, of Aiken, SC passed away at home on July 2, 2024. Funeral services for Roy will be held at one o'clock p.m. Friday, July 19, 2024 at Aiken's First Baptist Church with the Reverend John Carroll officiating. The family will receive friends from noon in the church parlor until the time of the service on Friday. Entombment with US Army rites will follow in the Southlawn Cemetery. Born in Charleston, SC, he was a son of the late Angus Gordon Walden and Josephine Paulkner Walden and was married to Gail R. Walden for 32 years. He was an Army veteran serving seven years, including service in Vietnam. He continued his computer programming work as a civil service programmer for the Pentagon for 14 years. Then Roy was IT manager with Dayco Corporation in Williston, SC for 29 years. Roy loved the outdoors being close to nature and wildlife. He was a deacon and served in numerous capacities within Aiken's First Baptist Church. Roy was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
In addition to his parents; he is predeceased by brothers; Frankie, George, Horace and Wainwright Walden; sisters Carolyn Jimenez, June Walden, Josephine Mummanday, and Bertha Dugan.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Gail; sons, Scott (Paige) Walden and Allen Walden; daughter, Laurie (Riley Bost) Holt; grandchildren, Megan (Gray) Brewer, Carson Barcklow and fianc? James Moore, Ashley (Josh) Campos and Chaston Walden; greatgrandchildren, Levi and Paisley Campos, Greyson Walden; sisters Emily Michael, Tavia Bryant and Dottie Dickerson along with many nieces and nephews.
