Roy William Kessmann known around the world as the Father of Intelligent Traffic Systems died in a Webster, Texas hospital October 18, 2021 after a courageous battle against Pulmonary Fibrosis and Parkinson's Disease. Roy loved life, golf, his work at NASA, and his design plus development of Intelligent Transportation Systems for US Department of Transportation/Federal Highway Administration that took him all around the world.
He leaves behind his wife, Patti (Patricia Hyde Horwitz Kessmann), daughters Dr. Jennifer Kessmann MD, Dr. Sara Lewandowski PhD, Julie Curtis, and 6 grandchildren.
