Roy Lee Blair Sr. 70 of Lawrenceville went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on January 26, 1951 to Reva B. (Lee) and Dewey M. Blair in Vincennes, Indiana.
Roy married the love of his Life Sheila Kay (Fox) on September 22, 1970 and she survives.
He proudly served his Country by serving in the United States Army.
Roy worked and retired from the Duke Power Company as an Instrumentation Technician.
Roy was a helper to many. His talents in a number of areas gave him the ability to lend a helping hand to those in need including his family, friends, and many churches in the area. He cherished time with family and friends. Roy was one of the most faithful, kind, generous, outspoken, ornery, hardworking man you had ever met. Roy loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and now has received that heavenly reward. He ran the race, fought the battle, and has earned his eternal prize. He was a lifelong member of the Assembly of God Church. Roy will be missed by all.
Roy is survived by his loving wife Sheila, his 2 children Roy Lee Blair Jr. and wife Sarah of Vincennes, Indiana, Beatrice Lea Evans and husband Jason of Vincennes, Indiana, 1 brother Pat Blair and wife Marsha of Vincennes 7, grandchildren Abigail Blair of Las Vegas, Nevada, Blair Evans of Evansville, Indiana, Faith Blair of Vincennes, Hope Blair of Vincennes, Emily Blair of Chicago, Illinois, Mallory Evans of Vincennes and Caleb Evans of Vincennes.
He is preceded in death by his parents Dewey Sr. and Reva Blair, 4 sisters Lydia Freeman, Esther Jeffries, Mary Sanderson, Barbara Waggoner, 1 brother Dewey Blair Jr. and 1 grandson Henry Evans.
Funeral Service for Roy will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at Glasser Funeral Home in Bridgeport, Illinois with Bryce Waggoner officiating.
Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery with Military Rites.
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Central Time at Glasser Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
