Rosemary Anne Krass died peacefully at MorningStar Senior Living in Fort Collins, CO on June 23, 2022. She was born in Joliet, IL, on April 12, 1929, the oldest of five children to Edward and Mary Jeans. She was granted piano scholarships to both Immaculate Conception Catholic High School in Elmhurst, IL and St. Francis College in Joliet. She was selected as Miss St. Francis during her senior year. In June of 1952, she married Edward Krass at St. James Catholic Church in Lemont, IL. They had two daughters, Diane and Michelle.
Rosemary was an accomplished pianist, taught elementary school, directed many choirs, played organ at various churches, and had the first guitar mass ever in California. Upon retirement in 1990, she and Ed moved to Durango, CO where she continued to bless many with her music. In 2011, they moved to the Front Range and lived in various senior living facilities. Rosemary was active in PEO, an avid golfer, and a life-long member of the Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, brothers Edward and James, and twin daughters who died three days after birth. Surviving her are her brother Bill (Cheri) Jeans, sister Ellen Gaffney, daughters Diane (John) Knutson of Greeley, CO and Michelle Tanaka of Burley, ID. Also, grandchildren, Patrick (Stephanie) Badgley, Matthew Tanaka, and Mark Tanaka, as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
There will be a service at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Greeley on Saturday, July 9 at 11 am with a luncheon to follow. The service will be livestreamed and recorded at www.greeleylutheran.org.
