CHARLOTTE - Roseanne Quinn Ebel, 79, of Charlotte, passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 from a catastrophic aortic dissection.
Roseanne was born on April 21, 1941 to William James Quinn and Marie Duffy Quinn in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from Red Bank Catholic High School, she attended nursing school and then discovered her true passion, education, and went on to teach for many years.
In 1966 she met Dallas Duane Ebel, the absolute love of her life, while living in California. They wed in 1967, going on to have three children, their twins, Duffy-Marie and Dallas, Jr. and their youngest, Kerrianne.
When Roseanne had her twins, she decided to dedicate her life to be the most loving and wonderful mother. If you knew Roseanne, you knew immediately she adored her three children, and her husband of 53 years, and especially her grandbabies, Oliver and Hayden. She also loved her children's spouses as if they were her own. Roseanne had the most amazing smile and made everyone around her feel welcome and so loved. She also had a deep appreciation for quality education and held numerous volunteer positions within the Lexington District Five School community in Irmo, South Carolina, in which her three children grew up attending. In 1979, Roseanne and Dallas moved to Irmo, South Carolina, from Red Bank, New Jersey, where they raised their children and remained until April of 2019, when they moved to Charlotte, North Carolina.
Roseanne was predeceased by her father, William James Quinn and her mother, Marie Duffy Quinn. She is survived by her husband, Dallas Duane Ebel Sr., her children Duffy-Marie Ebel Bengel (Scott), Dallas Duane Ebel, Jr. (Lisa) and Kerrianne Bridget Hartell (Matt), her grandchildren Hayden Henry Hartell (6) and Oliver James Hartell (5). She is also survived by her sister, Virginia Quinn Hesse, and her brother, William James Quinn, Jr. as well as five nieces and one nephew.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Levine Cancer Institute, c/o Atrium Health Foundation, 208 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203, in honor and in memory of too many family members affected by cancer.
Due to the unprecedented COVID pandemic, unfortunately, the family will have a private service at Myers Park United Methodist Church on Monday. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
