Mrs. Rose A. Ravizza, of Pittsfield, passed away at her home on Monday, February 21, 2022, just a month shy of celebrating her 93rd birthday. Born on March 26, 1929, the daughter of the late Michael and Bertha Harrington Jamross, she attended local schools.
At the age of 16, Rose began work at Elmvale Woolen Factory, where she was employed for 20 years. She then, for the remainder of her career, went to Schaeffer -Eaton, where she was a machine technician up until her retirement in 1995. Among many things, she enjoyed crocheting, animals, Old Western television, and playing a good game of the lottery.
Rose was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, Delphino Ravizza, whom shrried on May 13, 1950. Delphino passed away in 2006. She is survived by her niece, Darlene Collins (John) to whom she was a second mother. She leaves behind her siblings, Evelyn, Donald (Betty), and William. Besides her husband, Rose was predeceased by her siblings, Dorothy, Mitchell, Francis, Robert, Theresa, and Shirley.
Funeral Notice:
Funeral services for Mrs. Rose A. Ravizza will be Monday, February 28, 2022 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12 noon at St. Mark's Church, celebrated by the Rev. Christopher Fedoryshyn, Pastor. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service from 10:30 am- 11:30 am at the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North Street, Pittsfield MA 01201. Due to the recent rise in Covid cases, to best ensure everybody's health, all who attend these services will be required to wear a face mask.
