Rosalinda Salinas, 74, passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, Sunday, May 30, 2021, at her residence. Rosalinda is survived by her husband, Rene Salinas of Elsa, TX; 2 daughters, Melissa Salinas, Maricela Nichols (Rodney), both of Elsa, TX; 2 brothers, Heriberto Salda?a, Jr. (Mary) of Grand Prairie, TX, Jaime J. Salda?a (Thelma) of McAllen, TX; 2 sisters, Livia E. Lopez (Bert) of Harlingen, TX & Nellie E. Calderia (Anthony+) of League City, TX. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Robert Lewis Peacock, Miranda Rose Nichols, Megan Taylor Nichols, Aaron Rene F. Perez, Alyssa Marie Perez, and Alonzo R. Perez III. She is preceded in death by her parents, Heriberto & Maria Tita Salda?a. Rosalinda was born on December 7, 1946, in Mercedes, TX. She attended Catholic school in San Antonio, TX. She worked 27 years with Hidalgo County. When she began her career with the county, she worked at the District Attorney's office, then as a court coordinator for Judge Pete Benavidez, and Judge Homer Salinas for the 92nd District Court. At the time of her retirement, she worked as a court coordinator for the Auxiliary Court. She began working for the Edcouch-Elsa I.S.D. in 2004 as secretary at the S.A.I.L. Center, then at David Ybarra Middle School, and finally at the high school maintenance department. Wherever Rosie worked, she touched and impacted many lives. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2021 & 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 4, 2021, with a 6:00 p.m. rosary both nights at Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco - Chapel of The Heavens. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsa, TX. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
