Rosalind "Kay" Reed, age 70, of Burlington, Washington, passed away July 14, 2021. She was born January 28,1951 in Franklin, North Carolina to Odell and Margie (Anderson) Guffie.
Kay grew up upriver, she was a cheerleader for Sedro-Woolley High School and was homecoming queen in 1969. She worked as a nurse for several years before marrying John and starting a family. After her children were grown, she also worked at Rallye Auto with her family for over 30 years. She loved to cook for everyone, she made the best biscuits and gravy and fried apple pies in the world. Her sense of humor was contagious, she loved to joke and spent a lot of time laughing at herself and all the funny things she did. Her family loved to tease her. They would often heckle her about being caught at the casino or being a 'celebrity' at the frozen yogurt shop. She's loved to brag about her children and grandchildren, those who saw it first hand probably remember all the pictures. She loved her family and friends; she was known for putting others needs before her own and had a lot of close friends. She was one of the founding members of the NW Missionary Baptist Church in Hamilton and played a mean piano back in the day. Her faith in God wasn't something she had to talk about, it was something she lived. She enjoyed being a grandma more than anything. She was the best sister, daughter, daughter in-law, mother in-law, sister in-law, aunt, cousin, friend, MOTHER and GRAMMY anyone could ask for. She will be missed dearly by everyone that ever had the pleasure of meeting her.
Kay is survived by her children, David and his wife, Leanna Reed, of Redmond, WA and Deanna Estes of Lyman, WA; grandchildren, Riley Hoyle, John Reed, Farrah Lynn Estes and Emmett Reed; brothers, Doyle and his wife, Mary Guffie of Burlington and Dale and his wife, Debbie Guffie of Birdsview, WA; sister in law, Gail and her husband, Pete Nichols of Lyman; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Odell and Margie Guffie and husband, John Reed; sister, Gloria Guffie.
